“THE BEST MUSICAL OF THE YEAR”
“’TRAV’LIN -- The 1930s Musical Romance’ overflowed with rhythm, music, laughs and heart. This delight of a show
soared as it balanced comedy and poignancy, brought underappreciated music back to life, found the humanity in stock situations — and above all, reminded us to forgive and to love as we journey through life together.”
Matthew J. Palm, Orlando Sentinel
A SMALL CAST MUSICAL WITH A BIG HEART
TRAV’LIN is a six-character musical comedy set in a romantic vision of 1930s Harlem, with a tuneful period score that rediscovers the artistry of Harlem Renaissance composer J.C. Johnson. An original book follows three couples at different stages of life as each stumbles toward their own form of true love. Events unfold when settled bachelor George meets his match in more ways than one, befriending an out-of-luck stranger who is covertly the sweetheart he had abandoned forty years before.
